3" vs 2 3/4" Exhausts

Beaudesert exhaust? or which brand? not many do 2 3/4".

I have read all the posts with interest as I'm looking for ways to improve the economy on my car and I see many comments re the power/torque etc etc but I ask were there any significant improvements with the economy with the various changes? at this stage all I was thinking about was replacing the muffler with a straight thru goodie.

I've just installed a 3" system as mentioned above and am tracking my fuel economy on Fuelly.com. So, will post results here when I have some....

I have recently changed from a 3" to a 2 3/4" on my 1kzte 120 and have noticed a significant power increase. Most of the increase i noticed was down low, where we want it, yet i did still notice improved performance on the highway too. These are just my observations in my vehicle so take as you want.
Vehicle also has other mods like steinbauer, snorkel, bonnet scoop etc, however they were all there when i had the 3" too.

From the research that I did for the 1kz the 2 3/4" was definitely the better option. I have a DP chip as well and when I put the 2 3/4" on it made a huge difference.

I'm looking at a 2 3/4" for my 1KZ. Problem I have is either going Beaudesert exhaust aluminum @ $935
OR
Outlaw exhaust stainless @ $999.

Both include dump pipes and are full systems.

the reason i had to get a new exhaust is because the old 3" system purchased 3 years ago was starting to rust through, (i do have ERPS as well, but didnt stop it) to be fair tho we do alot of trips to Fraser Island, that said; i would never buy aluminised steel ever again, stainless all the way.

Would also recommend the blokes at Right Price exhaust Moss st if you are in Brisbane and after an exhaust, i have always taken my cars there and they are always great to deal with.

Any chance of links to your research? Getting confused with conflicting reports of which is better. Love to see some actual science/performance figures!

As I have had it on now for a few years I can't give you specific sites etc. but I know I spoke to some mechanics and exhaust outlets as well and the general consensus was that while a 3" will work the 2 3/4" will be better for the 1kz for the back pressure. There had been reports that people with 3" on these models were actually getting less power.

I got a quote last week. $1000 for aluminised steel or $1700 for stainless. Plus freight.

120 Prado D4D Exhaust 2.75 inch or 3 inch

I have just had a Safari snorkel fitted & I'm about to upgrade my exhaust system. What would give me the best torque increase, 2.75 or 3inch exhaust.

The exhaust systems I'm considering are 3inch Taipan & 2.75 inch Beaudesert.

Could member please provide feedback on their experiences/ recommendations
