But hang on a minute!... Lets buy a chip and upgrade the exhaust & you will still fall behind the D4D in fuel and power & have just reduced the life span of the KZ by introducing more heat & parting with about 2k in upgrades??? (Probably more!).... Lol (Especially if the head cracks you would have to put the extra 3k on top of ya 2k!

Wouldn't that 2K for upgrades on the KZ Plus possibly an extra 3k for head rebuild cover your injectors on the D4D? .... After all the injectors are a moving part that wears!)

Mine runs a beaudesert exhaust LOL and a chip LOL and it makes no difference LOL according to the EGT Probe LOL LOL whether the DTRONIC LOL is fitted LOL or not LOL.

I'm knowledgeable now so do my monthly injector feed-back value check and 5000km oil change and camera up-the-hole inspection of the pick-up screen just to be sure because I know they won't.

Out of interest what kind of camera do you use? I'll be doing this every 5,000km for my own benefit more than anything else.

And your 80K service should have been more expensive than "regular service", as they should have done a proper valve clearance check that involves pulling the injectors out. Google it...

I have not heard of an engine going bang with less than 30,000klms & that was a 150 series.
So based on that I'd say right away!
5000klms!

Had my 09 D4D 120 80K service last year, they left the feeler gauges under the bonnet, spotted later on a day trip by ####, but no mention on service receipt of injectors or seals/sheets being touched.

Maybe that's how they satisfy their customers, a feeler gauge set is cheaper than actually doing the work lol....
