Usually air in the system will require a re-priming - but if you were running at highway speed, the fuel pump could have enough draw to suck it through.

Though I would have thought that you would have heard/felt it.

When it happened I was doing about 40km slowing to go around a corner. Sudden loss of power and warning light.
After switching off to check the definition of light swiched back on and went home around corner (1 km) at low speed.

Next morning light was gone, but code still remained until I cleared via scanguage.

Then went on 300km trip at up to 110kph with no problem and car ran well.
Seem to think it might just have been a bit of contaminant got in when they changed fuel filter .
