As I said, Toyota Press release.

You'll find they wont release the new specs until landing date as it will bugger them selling off the old stock!

        Hi guys
I'm a motorjournalist from Norway (Europe), and the 3,0 D4D engine you're talking about, has been in Europe for over a year now. It came together with the 5-speed automatic. It riced from 163hp to 166hp, and the torque went from 343Nm to 410Nm. Together with the new gearbox, it makes a lot of difference, also in fuel economy.
But, within the begining of 2007 the Land Cruiser 120, as it's called here, will have an adjustment in our marked, to 172hp, and probably around 450Nm. What people often do over here, is to chiptune the engine to 204hp and 500Nm. Toyota make the chip themself thru their daughtercompany TTE, so the warranty of the car stays untouched.
Black side windows is here awailable as an option, called president-glas, and rails is standard on all models.

Together with the new engine setting, the 2007 model also will be available with Xenon headlamps and multifunction steeringwheel, witch is new in our market.

Regarding the Hi-Lux, I was with Toyota in South-Africa a week ago, to drive it with a new 2,5 D4D, and the 3,0 D4D. The last one has the same 3,0 D4D as the Prado/LC, but tuned to 172hp and 343Nm, wich it runs very well with.

Toyota also confirmed the new Land Cruiser 130, that will be awailable with a 4,4 liter TD, V8, 300hp, and hopefully 6-700 Nm. It will be displayed at a motorshow in Europe in september 2007. Yes, it's delayed, because the first schedule was spring 2007.

That's for now... All the best.
        Fred Magne

Going back to the original subject...... mine has a slight vibration in the steering wheel as well between 1500 & 2000 rpm, most noticable at @ 1700 rpm. It is hardly noticable though, not the pins and needles feeling you get. A suggestion might be to get Toyota to check the balance shafts in the engine are on their timing marks and haven't jumped a tooth or two on the timing belt ???? If they are out, the engine would vibrate a lot more, maybe causing the feeling through the steering column.
          Good luck,
          Mark.

Massive thread dig, but was this problem ever rectified? Been to two mechanics and both can't pick it!
