  • MISSFIRE ,HESITATION ?

    Hi everyone
I;ve been getting a weird missfire ,hesitation in my 04 td.
When it first happened i was taking of from a standing start at a shopping
centre and i thought i had run over raised painted lines thats what the
vibration felt like then it happened taking off from a set of lights on a
main road then like last week when coming along the m7 crusing on 105klm
there was a hesitiation like missfire again the worst thing it happens
so fast .Its got new fuel filters and only done 81000klm . Any suggestions

    cheers

i had similar couple of weeks ago

    http://www.pradopoint.com/viewtopic.php?t=2837

got it serviced and gave it a good dose of injector cleaner in the next tank. no probs since. though the fuel economy has dropped a bit it looks like it's not as bad as first though..

Hopefully nothing got through when the filters were changed but sounds like it might be the problem if it wasn't doing it before the filter change.! Take it back to them. Or might be worth running a good injector cleaner/fuel treatment. Good luck and let us know the outcome.

It does sound like a fuel issue, usually first place to look on diesel engines. As mentioned in the other post, go with a good injector cleaner first and hopefully that will be the cheap cure. I'm not affiliated in anyway but I use and recommend this additive. There's also some interesting facts about the diesel sulphur levels etc in that link. We run it in our trucks and it does improve economy and emissions instantly. Another positive is that it lubricates the fuel pump and gives you the peace of mind that condensation and fungal growth are taken care of in the tank.
