  • Help... Timing Belt Change Issues 1kD

    So today i decided to do my Timing Belt & Water Pump as my Tbelt light come on.

    I located the Top Cam timing mark and thought to what i could see the bottom one being aligned. After this is Went to do my Waterpump and realised i needed to take the camshaft pully off so i undone it but during the process turned it around a bit and then brought it back upto the mark.

    Now i believe i may be 180 degrees out is there a definite way to check this as when im looking at my bottom pully mark its out but im sure i did not turn my crank at all.

    Bloody ended up with a mess here or maybe way over thinking it

    This is how my Bottom Timing mark is sitting now Can someone help me out with the correct procedure to rectify?

    So Just to follow up on this encase someone else has the same issue,

    I Lined up the TDC Marks on the Harmonic Balencer
    That inturn Lined up the marks on the Crank Pulley (Timing belt lower Pulley)
    Installed the new belt with the Cam Marks lined up

    Tensioned up and then rotated engine a few times with a Breakerbar to test all the marks lined up again

      There are three marks to line up. It is my understanding if all three line up you should be good.
      Mark 1 is on top gear of timing belt.
      Mark 2 is on bottom gear of timing belt fuel pump. (I think)
      Mark 3 is on main crank

        Bottom mark is just a bees dik out. It probably just turned a bit.
