  • Blocked pickup screen - Sump sealant?

    Hi guys,

Was doing my 5,000km oil change and came across a blocked pick up screen, vehicle is a kdj120r

I have to wait to get it in for further analysis to see what has caused the blockage
In the meant time so I can drive it to the workshop going to drop the sump and give it a clean up

Just wondering what the sealant product is called, and do I want to get this from Toyota or just go to repco?
Also there is mention of a gasket as part of the oil strainer sub-assembly, do I need to put in a new gasket or can I reuse the original?

    Thanks
    Matt

    Repco.
    Grey Maxx.

    Re-use is fine.

The blockage is caused by blow by.
    Do you have baileys Injectors?
    Brass washers, no good.

        Thanks ####
I'd prefer not to comment on injectors at this stage till I have more information and it has been into the workshop, but my injectors of the 'unknown' brand were installed between those dates
I have dropped the sump and from a shiny clean pickup screen 5,000km ago to now, it does not look pretty.......

What the Injectors looked like, took a couple of hours just to get one of them out

This is what I have been dealing with for months now.
I have not had 3 in one engine, with blow by. Not good if they were left alone.
I have had a few that took hours to get out.
Lucky you got them out in time.

                    Some feedback here.

                    Check oil pickups. Very important.

For some checking pickups is urgent.

                      Another day another.....

This set were installed this year!
Massive blow by right away, due to the brass washers not sealing off.

Note: a full diagnostic before the washer change out to check if injectors seem ok.
*In most cases we are able to save injectors. Save you & or suppliers $$$$.

THIS ENGINE WOULD HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO MAKE CHRISTMAS, likely a month & bye bye.
