This is why We highly recommend compression test while injectors are out. We do it standard with injector jobs.
Have you done a compression test?
I have a bit of a rattle (to me it just sounds like a diesel). Starts fine, runs fine, no obvious loss of power...
I just had the injectors out (as #1 was reading out of range @ -2.7), and had compression test & leakdown test done, was down one Cyl#3. Can you look into your crystal ball and tell me if my prado is going to just die a quick painful death, or slowly get worse over time, but give me enough notice to not be out bush when it happens? Should I just bite the bullet and rebuild now, or could I get another 6 months out of it first?
Cheers

Ok guys
Bit of an update, My car is in at United Fuel Injection....that's right I cracked the shits and have let someone else deal with it. Now at first they thought it was low compression on cylinder 3, hence why the injector was trying to compensate by pouring fuel into that cylinder. Compression test showed all cylinders to be fine. They have moved the injector to cylinder 1 and the fault seems to have followed the injector. So at this stage it looks to be injector related.
Once i know more i will update this.
