Re: Beaudesert ,TaipanXP or Manta exhaust?

Since fitting my Beaudesert, I have found that there is little increase of noise when the chip is left at 4 (DP) but at 5 and 6, the noise is definately louder. It is always a deeper tone. I fitted an EGT and found that I was hitting 660 C under full acceration to 100 kpm from standing still. I don't know if this is a problem but it seems higher than others have reported. I can't say that I have had improved economy even though I have been aware not to use the extra power. I have turned the chip tback to 4 for a trip to Melb tomorrow and I will turn it up to 5 again for the trip home. We will see. I am happy with the mod if I can get the temp issue sorted.

    Regards

When I was in Kal, I had MUMSRIG next to a mates Prado D4D and he has the Taipan system.

There was a definate difference in the note from the Taipan. It was a bit louder than the Manta system.

Carl says it's made a noteable increase in performance and couple with a diesel gas conversion and the TRD Chip he's frying tyres!! and still getting awesome fuel consumpion figures...

G'Day All, just enquired about having a Manta system sent to the Pilbara for me to fit to the Mrs' 03 GXL. They must have made a mistake with my quote as it was over 2k delivered. Will be getting other prices I think.
          Regards Jaz.

As much as I am an advocate for Manta, you can buy the Taipan and get it delivered for that and still get change...

Did you both have Cat converters and 2 mufflers and a resonator?

I want the Manta system but "think" I would prefer minimum crap in the system, ie one muffler, no cat converter etc. I have a Capricorn member (Manta are a member) checking this out for me but its taking ages. As soon as I have sorted out the stainless system I will get the CHIPIT chip installed too!

My Manta system has brooken, the weld into the main muffler has given up, replaced it with a 3inch pipe
now only running with the rear muffler. sounds intresting sort of.

Has anyone done the Manta system with one exhaust?

Lol, chip off Mum's side of the block? Good reason for a louder exhaust ;p

Hi im a new member to pradopoint and recently fitted a 3 inch mandrel bent Sterling system to my D4D motor. Fitment and everything was ok but wasnt happy with the massive muffler that comes with the system. Started it up with half a pipe before the muffler and it sounded amazing. As soon as i added the muffler it was back to standard exhaust. Gona get the muffler chopped out and maybe a resonator put in

Hi guys I have had a Taipan exhaust for just under 3 years,in that time the bellhousing support bracket has been replaced twice & welded 3 times. The engine pipe has been replaced with a modified version(broke at the dump pipe flange),the intermediate pipe with muffler has been repaired(support bracket broke off the side of the pipe),& now the rear pipe over the rear axle has broken at the flange joint.they told me it's out of warranty now & because I drive it on the beach I should have fitted a Stainless system,$1300 bucks for an exhaust system & you can,t drive it on the beach.
