    Hi Guys
    I have had a rough idle at lights and going around roundabouts, the guy at Toyota was brilliant, it seems the d4d has engine mounts with a diaphram controlled by vacuum and if the diaphram is crook it gives an intermittant rough idle. Both were replaced and "wallaa" it is like a new car. This was done under warranty at about 60000 ks.

      We had our engine mounts replaced at 20000 service. Also now use the idle up button all year to raise the idle rpm when cold. This also helped with the rough idle when cold. The fast idle is cancelled when you put it in gear.

        Okay, I just had the rig serviced at Maitland Toyota, it was only a 5000km interval service as I considered that after driving from Alice then doing the GTG day trips it could do with an interim sevice. They have done a nice job on the service too. I asked them to do the injector test again to check if they were okay and they all came in within the tolerances set by Toyota however both engine mounts are shot and are going to be replaced next Thursday. For some strange reason the Swann extended warranty folks are covering the labour for both mounts but only covering the purchase of one mount and I have to cover the purchase of the second mount. :roll: Definitely the next vehicle will have the manufacturers extended warranty rather than a 3rd party warranty.

          Taking the Prado in today to Maitland Toyota to have the engine mounts replaced.

            Im with you mav i think my next numbers will skip 150 and go straight to 200 if you know what i mean
            Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

              Well the Prado has had the engine mounts replaced and it is so much smoother at idle. I have had many cars but this is the first time I have had to have engine mounts replaced. :roll: So far my list of repairs for this Prado are:
              a. 3 X Injectors

              b. pinion seal

              c. Rear main engine seal.

              d. Turbo replaced

              e. Engine mounts replaced

              f. Transfer case housing replaced

              Oh what a feeling! :roll:
