Hi Fellas. My 2 bobs worth. Oil and filter changes are the cheapest maintenance you can do on your vehicle with the single greatest payback. You are driving a diesel vehicle with a tab of upward of 5k if it shits itself. Why the heck would you scrooge out on oil and filter changes? I know the genuine oil filters are expensive so I personally use quality aftermarket units at around 1/2 the price, use a top quality oil and change the oil and filter every 5k. I have done this on all of my vehicles since 1971 when I started my maniacle apprenticeship. I have done huge ks on a large no. of vehicles, sometimes really dealing to them (around 50 at last count) and have never been stopped on the side of the road with terminal damage. This is right up there with cooling system care - a no brainer. Cheers.
