Normal turbo noise (video)

I noticed my turbo quite a lot louder today. Was much worse on cold start. Video taken after around 10-15 minutes driving.

It’s always had some noise but can’t remember it being like this.

I have never been in another 1kz so unsure if normal. If anyone who has one could have a listen would appreciate it.

no increase in smoke and appears to drive normal (maybe a little sluggish but I’m not convinced)

Bit hard to tell from the video. But for any induction related noise, suggest you read my recent post on induction related rattle. I was convinced for a while it might be my turbo, turned out to be degraded airbox intake seals. Given the similar age of your vehicle my guess is those airbox seals WILL be completely 'toast', so I'd start there.

Only after fixing the seals did I realise how noisy the motor had become over time without me noticing it.
