    Hi Matt
The part number for the EGR valve gasket when I did mine was 25627 67010.
    Cost was around $6.

I still have a spare I could scan if you just want a template..

      manifold clean

As per my original thread today removed my throttle body manifold and injectors , my throttle body and intake were prob worse than the others cleaned them inside and out and they came up brand new , checked glow plugs all ok, and got injecters tested all ok, blew out injecter lines and replaced fuel and oil filters ,also added some injecter cleaner to tank as i had it laying around. the outcome runs a lot smoother, quiter and feels more responisive under foot, yet to do the wife test will do tommorow. personally i think all prado owners do this clean. suprisng how much crap gets caught up in these parts and for 5 hrswork , its a diffrent car, also blocked of the egr vac lines.
will run a full tank of fuel and see the diffrence and update , cheers, thanks for the thread.

        Thanks

the EGR gasket is an aluminium type gasket, so you can use it as the templet as i did.
i didn't block off any functions/hoses on EGR. this allows the EGR to function but not route through inlet manifold.
and no risk of error codes

Hi Matt, I just bought the gasket for a template on the D4D. Part No "Gasket, Venturi NFO7, 2617130030" if that helps cheers Rod.

EDIT. Sorry Matt, Toyota said this was the part number, I bought it and it's for the INTERCOOLER not EGR.

So does anyone have a "catch can" on the D4D, as do some nissan owners of the ZD30 grenade, along with EGR block and a few other mods.
Prado BB, that IS a lot of gunk in your engine eh? There must be ways to help prevent this, these engines are also going to die before their time otherwise.

Stumbled across this post the other day. I am considering cleaning the throttle body and while I'm at it, the manifold. Although I am no 'mechanic' I've spent plenty of hours tinkering with cars, so these cleaning jobs won't be much trouble. What I am curious about though, is that whilst the manifold is off you get excellent access to the glow plugs and injectors. I am at 135k on the car, so I'm fast approaching the time to change these anyway. I was going to leave it to the mechanic, but thought i'd ask whether there are any special tricks to replacing these my self? It's obviously not the same as pulling spark plugs in a normal car etc, but are there any details that are important to get right etc or is it really just a case of remove and replace?

              Thanks in advance -
              Ian.

While on the subject of injectors, I thought I read somewhere there was two types for 1KZ engine? I notice there are a few operators selling exchange ones on Epay....any thoughts on these as well.

TassieTiger - what's involved in bleeding the injector lines etc? Is this difficult?

When i did mine I connected everything back up again and cracked off the lines at the injectors and cranked it over a few times. The battery went flat (had left radio on and battery was pretty sus). So I just did them back up and jump started it and it started first kick. So its not hard seeing as I really didn't do much.

I would just reconnect everything and see if it starts. (rotary pumps are pretty good at priming but dont know why)

                        If it doesnt you could do the following;
                        1. Connect all the pipes back up leaving them loose at the injectors
                        2. Remove the glow plugs (allows engine to spin faster and not start)
                        3. Crank the engine over to get the fluid up to the injectors
                        4. Tighten the pipes at the injectors
                        5. Fit the glow plugs.
                        6. Start her up.

                          this is pretty accurate.
the only issue is, you need to have the intercooler off crack the pipes and tighten.
but you dont want the vehicle to start/part fire with the intercooler off.
so just undo/leave the injector ends not connected, (therefore no fuel- no start).
once you see fuel squirting at the injectors, ignition off and tighten injection pipes and finish off.
i don't worry about removing glow plugs, but you are replacing, so that would work.
if you are replacing injectors, be sure to remove and replace the base washer(s) with the new parts.

                                Great thread.
Maybe a little bit of the topic but it has been discussed,

Do injectors need service/replacement after (x) amount of KM?(mine is now at 175000km and runs great) Should i be concerned?

Do glow plugs need service/replacement after (x) amount of km.?

After reading this ,I now need to rip off the inter cooler and check the muck factor.(Bugger)
