Similar experience with my recently sold V6. 98 very smooth; 95 cheaper and just as smooth but getting hard to find in Sydney;94/E10 absolute CRAP and mine used it at 2l/100km faster than any of the others;91 always fine but 95 better. As to consumption mine seemed to do a little better on 95 than on 98 and about 5% better than 91 but was so much smoother. Over 100,000 + km averaged about 16 l/100km around town.

Okay. We all know the V6s drinking habits is as bad or even worse than an Irishman but,



this is getting ridiculous. Especially after I recently changed the spark plugs, cleaned the MAF, and even did a computer reset (disconnect battery and leave it for a while). What else should I be checking? A/F and O2 sensors?

I thought I was the only one returning these kind of figures. I've always run on 98 fuel. Around town average around 21l/100km. I've just put it down to all the added weight of accessories bolted to the car. Would be stoked to get some of the fuel figures that have been stated here.

How much accessories are permanently bolted on?

My 120 is 2300kg, and I'm a leadfoot and I always get 17-18l/100km driving around town on 98.

I just got 15.2l/100km after a few highway trips.

Which diff oils are you running? Some after market oils can increase the economy.

Never jealous, but if I was, I'd buy a v6 as well, but I have a work ute, str8 6 & a garret attached for when I need to keep up with him around town been getting about 11.9 per hundred in that last 2000k's bloody economical, nearly as good as the Prado

I got our prado around 3 months ago now - i keep a spreadsheet with all my figures when we fill up - figures below are purely based on ODO reading and Litres put in the vehicle at the time. No OBD2 or MFD information is used.

The 13.48L per 100kms was a longish trip but quite hilly, the rest are combo of hwy and city driving.

Best i have put in was 173L
Will be interested to see the results once towing the camper.

Hi Mark, no idea of weights, but dual batteries, roof rack, winch, bash plates, upgraded front and rear control arms, rear drawers (a heap of tools), cargo barrier etc.

As with diff oils, I run Penrite 80W90 in both front and rear.

120 petrol consumption

Gday im getting about 18l per 100 in my 03 petrol prado is this about the norm or is there something i should check.it has new air filter fuel filter and gets regular services cheers all

Last few fillups on my 06 120 v6 it's all been around 13.4, 13.7 ,14.2 all around town and running normal 91 ron ULP. Have a 2" lift, factory bar, fridge permanently mounted (unsure of kg's of vehicle) I think if it's around that i don't care TBH.

On the other hand my FG F6 uses more and runs only on 98.

Mine is similar spec to kjoy. Bar, lift, winch, about 70kilo tools. Avg around town 13.2-14.8. Hwy 11 - 12.5. 91 Ron ulp.

I dropped almost 2 ltr per 100 by changing from a mud tyre back to an all terrain.
