      Re: Fuel Consumption V6 Engine

Scott I managed to get in the 10s on a very rare ocassion and it was like everything had to go your way. Filled up at a servo and hit the highway straight away and had a strong tail wind assisting me and there you have it I was doing 10s . Ofcourse that was only highway driving and going non stop, has soon as I got home and mixed it up a bit,it slowly climbed upwards. It can happen but it will be only on very rare occassions and under very perfect conditions like strong tail winds. But I would also agree that these V6's won't do 10s on every occassion it is just not possible and if it was I think MR Toyota would of made it happen. 8)

I have seen low to mid 12s out of mine but that was in utmost perfect conditions, everyday 13-15 is the norm and anywhere up into the mid 20s towing bike trailer. ( towing a car trailer in the Territory at their " special" speed limit does cause a very large thirst  )

My everyday range when I was running petrol was in the 12s to 14s but now that its on gas I tend to not worry about the fuel anymore.

Agree, take extra fuel with you if you do not have the OEM dual tanks. Mine drinks it like a drunken sailor when in the soft sand.

just got back from the Simpson on Sunday and from our fill up at oodnadatta to Birdsville we averaged 20l/100k. Had 40 litres left when we arrived.
We went via French,WAA, Rig Road, Knolls and Qaa.

Hang on a moment, where does Melbourne get it's gas from?

Here in westoz the gas comes ashore near Onslow, they pump the unrefined stuff into a truck that drives to Kwinana where they refine it and put it into another truck and take it back up North to where Stevo and his mates pay 99 cents a litre. It's in the 80's here in Kal and high 40's to 50 cents a litre in Perth.

They give it to the Chinese and Japs unrefined for around 2 cents a litre. The only trap is you have to sign up to buy a few billion dollars worth to get it at that price!!!

thanks for that...I was hoping the prices would drop in Broome but its still 99 cents a litre..Diesel has dropped a bit..138.9 a litre
Was going to Trade My Dual Fuel Grande for a diesel but I still love the girl and I'm sure they would give me bugger all for it here in the land of Diesel
                              cheers Stevo
