ok guys I done it I have ordered the pacemaker this morning and would you believe they arrived at my door step at 3.30pm. Now for the research on doing the job.Any feedback from the guys that did their own install will be great and I am guessing I will have to set aside about three to four hours.
Can't wait to do the install but looks like I won't be able to get a chance for about two weeks .
Oh yeah and its begun I have the Prado for 4years and the only money I spent on it was to maint and now after been on this site I have already put a k&n and here comes the pacemakers lol.2004 Grande V6 4.0L, Sovereign bar,Tow Pack,Hard Spare Wheel Cover,Rear Spoiler,Reverse parking sensors,Headlight & Bonnet Protectors,Pacemaker Headers,Safari snorkel,Stebel Nautilus Compact Truck Horn, Vapour Sequential Gas Injection , IPF 900 xs,Dual Battery ,radiator protection plate,K&N Airfilter,King Springs,GME TX3440,Waeco CF-60AC Verb,Reverse camera

Still $400 delivered I do believe. I'll PM you the details if you want em.
Go on you know you want em. 8)
I have found that with the A4 (4 speed) in mine it changes just after it hits where the power band now is thanks to the increased torque.03 Grande V6 4.0L, ARB Deluxe winch bar, XD 9000 Warn winch, Pacemaker Headers, Colour Coded Safari Snorkel, K&N Airfilter, Slotted RDA rotors, 55W HID Hella Rallye 4000 spotlights, Dual batt, TJM comp, TJM underbelly bashplate and custom stainless front bashplates, Extended diff breathers, Reverse camera (Eclipse), Yokohama AT-S, ICON 2.5 adjustable remote resi coilovers(front) ICON 2.5 piggyback shocks(rear), 2" lift airbags, Icom ic400pro, Engel 40L, Custom drawer system, Stainless recovery points, Kimberley MyCube rooftop camper.

Justo, I think the change in shift pattern is brought about by the A4 responding to the differring power delivery. I believe this has been caused by the VVTi on the exhaust, which has been directly affected by the increased scavenging from the pacies, (just my guess). I still haven't had a chance to take it for a decent drive but I have noticed an initial increase in acceleration, but found that it shifts too early from 2-3 just as it hits the power band. Will have to investigate further. In any case, I must remember that it is NOT meant to be a performance vehicle, I have my V8 or that! But the V6 is pretty darn nice piece of kit anyway. I'm looking at importing a CAI for it from the States as the air intake is very restrictive.

Maybe Pacemaker themselves would have some dyno printouts on them.! Might be worth a shot anyway.03 Grande V6 4.0L, ARB Deluxe winch bar, XD 9000 Warn winch, Pacemaker Headers, Colour Coded Safari Snorkel, K&N Airfilter, Slotted RDA rotors, 55W HID Hella Rallye 4000 spotlights, Dual batt, TJM comp, TJM underbelly bashplate and custom stainless front bashplates, Extended diff breathers, Reverse camera (Eclipse), Yokohama AT-S, ICON 2.5 adjustable remote resi coilovers(front) ICON 2.5 piggyback shocks(rear), 2" lift airbags, Icom ic400pro, Engel 40L, Custom drawer system, Stainless recovery points, Kimberley MyCube rooftop camper.

I had mine fitted last Friday week and have just returned from a drive out west of Dubbo of around 1000k, and the car is so much better to drive than before.
Found myself sitting on about 130kph on the back roads and the increase in power is very noticable, particuarly from mid range on, where it is very handy for overtaking the road trains .
Fuel consumpion averaged around 12.7 ltrs/100kms, that was getting in and out of Sydney plus the country driving and air con on.
The delivery of the Pacies was impressive, they had them to me the next day, from Melbourne to Sydney, for $400.00 delivered!
The exhaust fitter mucked around a bit installing them as they misplaced the instructions and had not fitted a Prado before so it ended up costing me $300.00. Took them almost 4 hours.
These would be one of the best investments you could spend on your car, together with a suspension upgrade, it just makes the car a greater pleasure to drive.2014 Black GXL D4D Auto with a few add ons.

Can anybody tell me how does it effect the factory warranty with Toyota ??
And has the under bonnet temp increased ?
Cheers
M
p.s the headers that everybody is fitting , are they short or long headers (Short Header Fits to Precats or Long Header -This vehicle has four catalytic converters. 1 set of cats need to be removed, header joins to exhaust system oxygen sensors will need relocating ,1 sensor before cat one sensor after cat # Note May void warranty)

hi
can't help you with all your questions but can help you on one, the Pacemakers are short so none of the cats are removed. I am about one one week away from putting mine on and I will report back on them but so far their seems to be no negative feed back only postive.

Hi M,
As Zapper and others have said throughout this thread, the headers are short and come supplied with a flange that is welded onto the pre cats where they joint the old manifold system.
I've had mine on 3 weeks now and have not noticed any discernable increase in heat under the bonnet.
As to voiding any warranty, you may have to ask a Toyota dealer that.
But if you are sick of the annoying noise from the standard manifolds and wan't a bit more get up and go, go ahead and get a set, you won't regret it.
cheers,

Just filled up my tank after my first full week of city driving since having the headers fitted.
90 Ltrs used for 687 kms equal 13.1Ltrs/100kms.
Compare this to an average of 14.5/15 ltrs/100kms prior to having them fitted, I would say there is a worthwhile fuel saving there.2014 Black GXL D4D Auto with a few add ons.

Well done Zapper.. I hope you are as happy as the rest of us with them.
Hey Dobbo, they are some good figures for city driving. I'm still up around the 14 L/100km but I do have the occasional heavy right foot.. :twisted:03 Grande V6 4.0L, ARB Deluxe winch bar, XD 9000 Warn winch, Pacemaker Headers, Colour Coded Safari Snorkel, K&N Airfilter, Slotted RDA rotors, 55W HID Hella Rallye 4000 spotlights, Dual batt, TJM comp, TJM underbelly bashplate and custom stainless front bashplates, Extended diff breathers, Reverse camera (Eclipse), Yokohama AT-S, ICON 2.5 adjustable remote resi coilovers(front) ICON 2.5 piggyback shocks(rear), 2" lift airbags, Icom ic400pro, Engel 40L, Custom drawer system, Stainless recovery points, Kimberley MyCube rooftop camper.
