My daily drive to work consists of 17kms of winding road through the National Park and another 12 through suburban traffic but in saying that, I do tend to drive a bit "enthusiastically" through the park.
Also I don't have the extra weight of the bar or racks etc (yet!)
I am keeping my eye on it to see if it wasn't just a one off, but I was acheiving 14-15 ltrs/100kms prior to fitting so I don't see the figure of low 13's changing much as I haven't changed my driving style , other than as you say, to put the boot into it a bit more.
Well done to Zapper, You'll wish you had done it sooner.
One of the dads from my daughters netball team has just bought a new D4D GXL and I've put him onto this website so I expect to start seeing suspension upgrades and mods on his car shortly!
Hey guys...looks like I have joined this one a bit late....but does any know a good operator in Melb's Eastern Suburbs who could fit the pacemaker headers to my prado????
I have fitted the pacemakers (short) but I am still getting the tick tick noise, not as loud but it is still definately there. Can anyone give me an indication of the cost of the Y section of the exhaust behind the headers and / or the cost of the rest of the exhaust behind the headers at around 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 in. What is the standard exhaust diameter?
Well I am officially sick of the ticking under load so have decided to go for some extractors. I can get the Pacemakers in Melbourne for $370 and have decided to fit them myself. I understand there is some cutting and welding to do but I have a gas mig and the necessary cutting equimpent so I will let you all know how it goes and hopefully take some pics as well.
I called Toyota and they want $29 per side for the manifold gaskets so I will investigate an after market option if find that I can't reuse the existing ones.
If anyone can see a good reason to go for the ceramic coating please let me know. This isn't a sports car and as far as heat goes the factory manifold is not coated so I see not need - but I can be easily swayed
I'll be buying the Pacies this coming week.
