fuel economy 4 the 4lt V6

Has anyone done reasonable comparison on the 4lt V6 fuel comsumtion compared to the Turbo diesel?????

I'm lucky our family has

Me- v6 6 speed
Father in Law - Diesel 5 Speed
Sister in law - Diesel (4 speed auto - yuck)
Sister - v6 Auto
Brother in law - Diesel 6 speed D4D

I have taken all but the diesel 4 speed auto from Rockhampton to Brisbane and back again approx 1400km round trip .

The v6's range from 13 to 15 litres per 100km - the auto using a little more then the manual box - but it depends on the traffic flow , any overtaking and how much shopping the wife has on the trip back.

The Diesels range from the 9 to 11 litres per 100km .

All the above figures really depends on your driving style .. ie race car driver or sunday cruiser.

I own a petrol , but I prefer the Diesel D4D . Good Power , Good Fuel Usage and Over takes nicely.
