What Oil and plugs to use ?

I have now done 220 000 on my Grande and its due for a big service.
Please can I have your recommendations on the following:

1-engine Oil
2-spark plugs ,has anyone used iridium plugs in the Prado before?
3-Diff oils

I will also be changing the Transmission oil with the Toyota T3, as recommended.

I read in some older posts the most 10w40 grade oils should be a good option. I have also got a set of 6 LFR6AIX11 iridium plugs at $25 each, so hopefully they will be good for 50 000 km or more. Do I need to set the gap or are they good just out the box?

I used Castrol Edge 5W-30.
I bought the iridium or platinum spark plugs from Toyota last time but ended up giving it back to the service department to change them out.

Why did you get them to change them? Are the std plugs from Toyota better?

I ran out of time for a DIY so just took it back to the dealer.
They were the genuine Toyota plugs which are from Denso (from memory). So that's good enough for me.

I've used Iridium plugs in my 95 series and i worked out it is roughly the same price over 120,000km

Iridium plugs are only good for 60 k and standard are 40 k

You can get the Iridium plugs off ebay.com from the US for a very good price. I think about a third $$ even with postage.
