and the last one the look from behind...
what i like about the system is its simplicity.
from the gas tank straight to the injectors.with the other systems
tap into the cooling system and take so much engine bay room.with the
liquid injection system you hardly notice it, there is still space for second
    battery compressor etc...
i waited one year for this sytem.originally i was going to install the vapor injection.
the thing i like about it and i am not a mechanic is the when the gas
enters the cylinder it is actually cool/freezing where as with the vapor systems
it is hot.as we all know any extra heat causes problems like burnt valves atc..
yes it is new i have some economy issues in the city but i am in a constant
dialogue with lpg warehouse in melbourne and my installer and i beleive we shall fix the problem.
    they have been very helpful...

here is the photo from behind. when i picked up the car
i thought he put the tank somewhere else...
i have lost 30 mm from the original tank
but with the 50 mm suspension increaseit is still good[attachment=0:y3n4tt6q]DSC02385.JPG[/attachment:y3n4tt6q]

at the moment my fuel consumption on the freeway is between 14 & 15 litres per 100 which is acceptable.
In the city pretty bad like 25 litres per 100. LPG warehouse tells me it should improve after about 3000k's.
Their explanation is that with the liquid injection the fuel goes from the tank to the injectors.
there are very high pressures involved so they have used ceramic seats for the injectors which need time
to bend in.At the moment when the car is idle say overnight it needs a few cranks to startup the next morning.
the reason for this is that injectors leak so the cylinders flood with and that is why the economy in the city is no good
But i shall see if their reason is good enough after i cover a few kays.
LPG here in sydney at the moment ii about 44'9 cente per litre. So even with my bad economy it is still
          cheap motoring....
i wwill keep you posted how my ecocnomy goes.....

Billy, did this actually work properly. I haven't had a good look at the wiring diagram for the sender unit but I would have thought adding a resistor inline, essentially simulating a full rear tank, would make your gauge work from full to half but go no lower than half.
My logic is this - assuming the gauge in each tank has 50 ohm potentiometer (value not too important), when empty on both tanks (gauge empty) you would get 0 ohm, both tanks full (gauge full) = 100 ohm, rear tank empty (1/2 tank) = 50 ohm. It may work completely in reverse but the logic is still the same. I would have thought introducing a fixed resistor inline would limit the fuel gauge operation to above 1/2 only as the resistance cannot drop below that of the fixed resistor.
I am hoping I am completely wrong and your gauge works well as it sounds like an easy fix for a problem that seems to annoy a lot of people.

Billy, did this actually work properly
I ended up getting the fuel gauge to read almost full(about 1/8 off the full mark)after filling the tank up and by the time the low fuel light comes on theres still about 30 litres remaining.

I still dont fully understand this fuel gauge curcuit but what i found was when the fuel sender float was all the down(simulating an empty tank) i measured 60ohms on my multimeter (I cant remember how much resistants there was when the float was all the way up but it wasnt 0).
So I placed a 60 ohm resistor in the curcuit in place of the sender. The gauge only got to just over half???? :?
The gauge seemed to go up to full and back down again to just over half.

After triing many differant resistors, 56ohm seem to work the best.Any more resistants and the gauge starts going down again(even .22 ohms)

It would be better using a varyable resistor or just use the old sender and tie it up somewhere!

Thanks Billy. It sounds like with a bit of tuning we may be able to find a resistor that will give good readings all round. I will have a good look at the fuel sender wiring diagrams tonight and figure out what is going on.

                      hi,
if you go through my earlier posts you'll see i had the same problem. The
tank was showing empty. As it turned out it was a toyota problem.
It is now fixed and the 90l light is alway on (it does not bother me).
                      cheers....

Yes the green light is always on.

Thanks for your message,it could be very helpful

I will try earthing the white, black stripe wire in combination with disconecting the battery for half hour.

                        Cheers Raydes

I was wondering if anyone has had a go at fitting the old sender unit back in line after seperating it from the rear tank. Also does anyone know if there is a sensor in the venturi line from the rear tank?

Just had my Prado have it's 12mth gas safety service by Dallas and the guys at http://www.teamgreenautogas.com.au and can't fault the system. Fuel consumption from day dot has been averaging 17lt/100kms(380kms/65lt) city driving and 15lt/100kms(430kms/65lt) on a highway trip(no towing). Admittedly it does increase to 20lt/100kms(300kms/65lt) when towing trailer laiden with 700kgs of bike and camping gear but at 55c/lt compared to $1.25 for petrol I can handle that. Very happy indeed, just wish had more room for gas tanks.

Ive got my fuel gauge working well now, thanks to Raydes info
Im now using a 50 ohm 5 watt resisitor and earthing the single white/black striped wire. Then I disconnected the battery for a few minutes.

I held off topping up with petrol until the low fuel came on and I managed to get 70 litres into it.
Gauge comes right back onto the full mark now.

This worked for me while I was sorting out my fuel guage issue.I just cable tied the float arm in the empty postion pluged it in and tied it up under the chassis.

Tried the earthing of the single Black and White wire but when I had a look there were 3 black and white wires.

Earthed what looked to be the thickest but hasn't fixed the problem.

                                Will try others I suppose.
