  • Crankshaft pulley removal

    Hi,
I need to replace the front crankshaft seal, but can't loosen the pulley bolt.
In the manual it says it's 250nm. Damn that's tight.
I've tried using multiple tools to loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt but none have done the job.
Tried sockets with long bars, impact driver to the point it got hot.
Now I'm wanting to try the engine flick with socket and long bar attached.

My question is, which fuse do I need to remove to stop the motor starting?

Thanks for any help with this.

Try heating it.. I wouldn't be using the engine to try to crack it.. Or find someone with a decent impact rattle gun. Some can do up over 1000 nm. 250 NM isnt too bad, My wheel nuts are at 205NM on the steel wheels.

Long breaker bar to the ground and starter kick works just fine.

Heating it isn't a great idea, you could melt the rubber inside the pulley.

Long breaker bar to the ground worked for me.
