New prado spec updates for August build 2007

Hi guys
This is great site and i discovered it in the nick of time for i have just ordered a new prado (6 speed, diesel ,gxl, silver with option pack 1 which is side curtain air bags).I thought that you also might like to know that toyota are doing a spec upgrade for all models including the gx but are mainly focusing on the gxl model.

If you order a car today you can only get the new model because the july build is already full and that will be the end of the current spec and then the new spec will begin in August.There will be an advertising campaign in about 2 weeks time telling us what will be new from toyota for the prado range.I know the August build prado gxl will now have rear aircon and front pasenger and driver climate control (dual zone).The stero will have intergrated bluetooth and the controls for stereo will now be on the steering wheel,they are also going to move the rear tail lights a bit higher up from where they are now (sounds interesting).If you want any more info let me know and ill take a closer look at the spec sheet i was given from the dealer where i bought my car from. (all models)

Unfortunealy i have to wait till October for my car but it will be worth while knowing it comes with a few more goodies

Just ordered a new diesel gxl myself yesterday (09.07.07). Does this mean I should have waited another day? They have told me it will be ready at the end of September. Apparently there is a tracking thing that they are going to email out so the progress can be monitored. Have you got this? What other thing are they changing?

Im 99.99999999% sure if not 100% sure that the July build was booked out in june.So all orders for July will be made for the August build which will cover you.All of the toyota orders are sent to Japan on the first friday of each month hence last friday the 6th of july but toyota has extended this period this month because the july month (end of finacial year was extremely busy) and it took some time for dealerships to get the june orders together.

So i have no doubt you will get the August update.If you are unsure have a chat to your dealer.if you have ordered an auto petrol there are some still floating around that will most likely become a real bargain when the new one is released (run out model)but if you have ordered a diesel manual or auto then it doesnt even exist yet.

I have left the spec form at work and will try and upload on here some how will most likely need someones help but we will get there.An other thing o just though of is that with the new model for diesel or petrol AUTO ONLY you can either the choice of option pack 1 or option pack 2 >option 1 is side curtain airbags (which is available for manual) and option 2 includes vehcle stabilty control (auto only).

You might find that you dealer knows nothing about the update model as yet for its only last Fridays news.I rang toyota head office to find out what future plans for prado so this how i found out and i informed my dealer who new nothing aswell.

Well i feel im missing out.
First off is I have the "old" diesel, Now the GXL is getting more goodies. :cry:

But one thing to remember is that with the option with the side airbags you might not be able to fit a cargo barrier.

I heard that is the go with the "old" VX and Grandes as well.

But even without the new goodies the cars are good.

Geez that pisses me off. Just like bloody computers, always upgrading.......

When we purchased our GXL in April, I wanted dual zone air front and rear, in fact the missus thinks that it has rear aircon..............

I also wanted the stereo controls on the steering wheel and side airbags, but could only justify the cost of the GXL.

I wonder how much I could get for trade in, only 4400k on the clock, still in show room condition, except for some excess Fraser island sand, and never been off road :wink:

WooHoo, this is my first post on the forums. I only ordered a new VX diesel Prado yesterday and I cannot believe my luck to find out that they are upping the spec. Usually I have the reverse luck where I order something and get the last of the run.

Care to elaborate on what, if any, features are being added to the VX?

Prado August upgraded model

I have a GXL D4D on order (since June 07) it is due for delivery in September. I spoke to my dealer this morning after reading this forum. The dealer knows little about the details of this upgrade...not surprising with Toyota I guess. I am hoping and praying that it will be an August build. The thing I was going to ask the group is how do I get access to the Toyota online order tracking system, my dealer knows nothing of this either.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. about bloody time they came to the party. My kids always whinge about the lack of air in the rear, especially the boot.

Oh well stiil got a while to go on this " old" one yet.
Must get back onto my rear air project summer not far away now
