  • 80k Service

I just rang my local dealer where we have had the car serviced since new to get an idea on what the damage was for a 80k service. The reply was $1400 and that was with a discount!!

    Is that right?

    It's a 2008 D4D Auto, Perth

80K service is a pretty big one (from memory) but it shouldn't be that much. Should be below but near $1K.

        Just had mine done.

With a cold start, for testing of injectors the total was $801 .
        Cold start portion was $115

Your quote seems a bit rich

I've just booked my 120K service which is the same as the 80K. At first they said $930 but then revised the price to $769.47. I know mine is a V6 not a Diesel but I'm surprised by your quote - I'd shop around if I were you.

Yeah that is a tad steep.
I would be ringing another dealer to get there price first just for peace of mind, Mine cost $721 for the V6 i cant see there being another $700 for a Diesel

Just had mine done on my 06 VX V6 at a 4wd specialist-$1200 BUT I asked for the auto trans fluid to be changed -$200 + [highly recommended by auto trans people every 40k]-and also new front pads- not a problem when you know it is done properly [unlike the yobs at the local dealer where EVERY job has had to go back to them]. Not my Prado, but my Mazda BT50 2wd ute. Got a price from where I bought it for a 40K service and was quoted $980. Rang the next closest dealer only 15 min away and they quoted $730 for same service. When I questioned it at first dealer they offered to do it for $750.
Ended getting it done at local repco for $500.

$801 was the bill for mine although its v6. lucky for me they agreed to change price back to $250 as thats what they quoted it to me at as they said i had fixed price servicing for life of extended warranty at $250/service. that came from the sales and service depts. luckily for me they gave in hey as when i read fine print at home, the fixed price servicing is just for your normal oil change type service and doesnt include all the extras in a 80K service etc. sounds like i got it easy. 801 was a shock to me after the $100 servicing for the 90 series. wonder how many people wouldnt buy a late model vehicle if they new the cost of servicing

I've since had 2 other prices from local dealers $793 and $750. A little more reasonable. I rang the original dealer 4 times to get a different price as they said it was "wrong" Still waiting 2 days later. Oh well they have just lost a customer. Toyota dealer northern suburbs of Perth if anyone was wondering.

I just got mine back from its 120k service - they quoted $769.47 and charged $722.54. Nice to see it less than quoted.
