  • ARB this is NOT good enough.

    Hi Folks,
I bought a ARB deluxe ally roof rack and fitting kit for my Prado a week ago.
I took it down to my father in laws to fit as he has a big shed where I could get out of the wind and rain (if it did rain) and this morning after having removed the covers off the existing roof rails and getting ready to install the new rail kit from ARB, I drove down to pick them up...when I got home and opened the packaging on the rails I was GOB SMACKED to find this..

I will be banging on the door of the store at 9am in the morning to explain how *instert bad words here* I am at what I was supplied.

I don't know about mistake...this was suppose to be a brand new kit supplied with a brand new rack.
It has quite clearly been fitted to another vehicle and rack fitted to it also.

The package the rails came in had a brand new hardware kit in plastic.
We will see what they have to say tomorrow morning...I too hope this can be sorted out adequately.

Sometimes stuff that is returned is put in a box for resale later (stocktakes etc) and then they end up back on the shelf by accident or mistake. Stuff happens. I am sure you wont have an issue.

Those pics remind me off the state of my bullbar when I unpacked it, only it was worse! No worries with ARB replacing my bullbar though, except they ran out of new bullbars before we found one that was any good, so I had it repaired myself, at my own expense. My ARB fridge lasted less than 12 months before that died, it couldn't be repaired but ARB gave me a new one no questions. Both my air lockers had leaking pneumatic seals, fixed under warranty with the rear diff being replaced due to "issues" when it was removed.

ARB warranty seems pretty good, not so sure about their products though!

                  Cheers Andrew

If thats the condition of an obviously used ARB roof rack kit,I would be concerned about quality and durability of the replacement kit.

I would personally be asking for my money back and sourcing another branded kit

It certainly sucks. Seems to me ARB have some SERIOUS quality control issues. Good luck with it.
