  • Sun Shade

    Hi All
With a recent addition to the family I need some form of shade for the rear passenger side door window. I thought I had seen a thread on here before regarding this topic but cannot find it through searching.

The two options appear to be the cloth style that fits over the door window, supercheap have these for the 120 Prado for about $40 or the suction cap style ones that stick on the inside. My concern with the suction cap style is finding one that adequately covers the whole window to provide shade from all angles.

Interested to hear peoples experiences with the options above or if there's another option I'm not aware of.

I would get the window sox (i think thats the name) that slide over the window. Great UV rating and dimming quality for little eyes.

Vote 2 for the window sox, you can use them with the windows down as well and allows air in, keeps sun out and also stops objects from finding their way onto the rd when they get a little older.
I had them on both back windows when my 2 were babies work a treat.

Oh yes. My kids are now teenagers (13 to 17). I had forgotten about the fact they would throw things out of the windows when down. The sox return the items with some spring so they learn its risky to try and throw the bottle out in a huff because it hurts when it bounces back and daddy finds it very amusing. ;p

Another vote here for the Window Sox, however I only have one on the rear passenger side window, as opposed to the rear drivers side window. Having used one on the window behind the driver, I found it quite difficult to look over my shoulder to check the blind spot. Really annoying!

Any suggestions for a drivers side sun shade that only covers the top half and permits viewing of side mirror?

we have had the shevron brand window socks on our last 3 cars, they are well priced and a good product( I have no affiliation with the brand). The only problem though has been when we have left them on in rainy weather overnight and the socks have acted like a sponge and drawn water from the outside and consequently wet the rear seats of the car, not a problem though if you remember to take them off overnight!
as for the limited visability on the drivers side just fit blindspot mirrors.
