The wife was driving the Prado the other day and noticed when she turned into her normal Petrol station that the VSC light came on as well as the buzzer also briefly sounding for approx 1-2 seconds.
It happened as she was crossing over the gentle slope of the guttering from the road at approx 20-30k's before slowing down as she entered the petrol station.
I thought it was strange for VSC to kick in a such an odd situation so I tried it myself. Same thing happened, this was a standard entry into the driveway of the Petrol station and no way a panic situation.
Upon checking the tyre pressures (run them at 36psi), I found the left rear Grandtrek had a nail in it with the pressure being at around 22psi.
It seems mounting the gutter and the fact that the rear tyre behaved differently by briefly rotating at a different speed was enough to cause the VSC to signal an alert.
Don't know if it will work all the time but thought it was neat anyway.
