  • Annoying rattle from overhead sunglasses holder.

I'm getting a rattle from the front cabin light / sunglasses holder, particularly if traveling over light corrugations.

I want to pull down the assembly to see if I can fix the rattle, and it looks like you would just prise off the corners, but I am not sure if one end is hinged or something.

Anyone know how to do this?

Front end pulls down first, if you do the rear you will break the little tabs off.

There is standard pop clips and also decent Velcro above the sunglasses holder area, it needs a decent pull to get it down then the back slides forward to remove the slide clips.

i've had this as well, lots of clark rubber foam shoved into different corners (once the holder is removed of course) solved the problem

            More info.
A sharp downwards tug at the front edge gets it out.

Well, I was able to get the assembly down, but haven't attempted to fix the rattle yet.

As Piggy said, you need to give a sharp pull down from the front (ie sunglasses end). I found it easier to pop the sunglass holder open and use it for grip.

                  Here's a side view:

For timmay5.7 - the bulbs are 12V 8watt single ended bulbs with locating lugs.

To access the bulbs, you need to remove the 4 screws (circled in red) and lift up the white assembly.

                  The bulbs look like this:

There's a little lug directly opposite the one shown. These were a bit of a pain to get out. I had to press the bulb into the holder and twist it 90 degrees to disengage the bulb from its retainer.

                  Hope that helps! Paul

Kudos to you for your effort BUT that is the LONG way if you wanted to change the bulb.

All you have to do is to stick a flathead screwdriver wrapped in a cloth (so you don't damage or scratch the housing) between the lens cover and the housing and then pry the lens cover out.

Longer yes, maybe safer The whole exercise only took a couple of minutes anyway.

But I have yet to isolate and fix the rattle

I couldn't find a thread for the 150 series. I assume the 150 light/sunglass surround is removed in the same manner? Can anyone confirm?
