    Hi

I have a current version 150 series with a Toyota brand tow bar and tongue. Toyota have officially told me today that it can not legally be inverted to gain height for towing. Further, they do not sell a Toyota branded tow bar or tongue for the current 150 series other than the one matched set. So what options are available without replacing the entire tow bar and keeping it legal when more height is required?

in case anyone wants the part numbers..
    tow bar PZQ64-60220
    tongue PZQ63-60220

    thanks

Do what I did and go to Repco and save a fortune - they have a range of options (long, short, adjustable height). I'm assuming your existing receiver is the 50mm square one.

From Googling, it appears that if Toyota places a label on the towbar tongue specifying that it can be used inverted, then you're good to go. I would fit the Toyota towbar (if that is what you think is the best option for you) and then fit an aftermarket tongue which suits the towball height you require.

Thanks to all. It’s not an engineering concern to me. The issue is legal if you have that very rare accident and the insurance wants an out clause.
as it happens, the Toyota manual contradicts the Toyota installation document for my Towbar specifically. So, I’m happy to reference the installation document from Toyota and invert it imo legally.
perhaps the car manual needs an updated version Toyota!
