AC Cooler Not cooling

Hi Everyone,
I owns a 2007 model Prado VX limited 4L 6V.
I bought it recently as a second owner.
AC cools very well, but the cooler just cools a little.
Chocolates is just as of normal Temperature.
Cooler cools Very little. what i feel is my AC is far cooler than the cooler.

So does the cooler box use the same Refrigant Gas as of AC ?
Please let me know.

Presume your refering to the centre console (between front seats) yes it runs off the airconditioning, BUT you must have the aircon/fan switch on for the cooler to operate..........Yes it uses the same gas/same system

Yes,the same center console.
but can i know how much you get the temperature ?

I had operated Cool Box with my AC on and with 'Coldmax'.
But still my cool box doesnt cool significant
Rather i feel the normal AC temperature is much cooler.
so do you know any reasons for this ?
is it due to blockage of air in air duct or some thing ?
I dont know much regarding conditioning and technical side.

I havnt seen inside one or around it to see how it operates exactly. I would say either its been disconected due to leak or some thing maybe or yes there may be a blockage although if it was blocked I would imagine the aircon out the vents wouldnt be cold either ?? sorry I cant help you any further, hopefully some one else may know a bit more about the way the cooler box works in the grande. Centre console cooler has an evaporator coil in it, and a liitle fan to circulate the air around the cooler and the evap. It runs off the same gas and compressor as the main and rear AC, so if ACs works then its not low gas. My cooler works regardless of whether either of the other ACs are on. Does the green LED in the cooler switch under the lid turn on and off when you press the switch?? You should also here the fan running when you open the lid when the cooler is turned on. The cooler when working is fantastic, drinks are icy cold, and get there very quickly.

hey Matt his is a VX not a grande ?? Havnt seen a VX here in OZ with a console fridge only the grande's like yours, maybe an option or standard on the VX over there, or maybe it just has a vent from the aircon to the box to supply a tad of cool air from the aircon vent like the 150 series GXL. As you have stated the grandes have there own evap built in hence why they cool so well...Cheers Steve
