    Hi guys,

I really want to salary package a new GXL D4D. Have any of you guys out there done it? My package can include tyres, servicing, fuel etc, but some of my after tax earning has to go in to offset FBT.

I was just wondering, with the GXL about 55-56K, if any of you guys know the kind of discount the fleet company can get off the price? I would love to be able to get one for 50K or under!

    Cheers,

    Ryan

    Ryan,

I have salary packaged a D4D GX auto but added a stack of extras that brought it to about the same price as a GXL. I got a $9K fleet discount.

The calcs through my lease company are around 6 weeks old and without any accessories it came to $50,600 (GST inc) but that was on the old GXL pricing. The new release is around $1000 more. Dealer Discount was $6,700 but I guess discounts depend on the starting price.

        Gday Ryan,
Fully serviced is great ! I run with a fully serviced novated lease on mine ( not new or D4D ) and think it is a great system, a part of my wage is taken post tax to offset the FBT down to zero, The fully serviced package is geat for budgeting etc, As Chippy knows you can get in your truck and drive around Aus and still only pay the same amount per week regardless of fuel used ( as long as you dont go over your annual km ) For Chippy and I with our 4L v6 wagons this is great ! I am sure there are many others on here who wil also agree !

Yeah salary sacrifice is the go if you do the Ks (must do at lease 25000km a year to get the FBT down to a reasonable level) I'm going for my second car on a lease now subject to Toyota delivering one to me.
As for discounts it varies depending on your company etc I was told today that I get the top discount which is about $12k on a GXL auto.
It pays to shop around with the so called preferred dealers some do better deals than others. I just wish I could shop around for the insurance an lease deals as well but my company is locked into one company for everything must of been some good back handers going around when that deal was done.

              Ryan,

I know that my packaging company, and I think this applies to most, are happy to let you load up the vehicle with extras as part of the the original purchase so long as they are all on the one invoice from the dealer. I had Toyota arrange installation of Lovells/Bilstien suspension, Safari snorkel, Jarram roof rack, rear Airlocker and compressor in addition to the Toyota extras I wanted. The dealer I used had no issues with this as he does all the mining fleet cars and they all get set up with non-Toyota parts. Infact the prices he passed onto me were less than I was quoted for the parts!
But once you have the vehicle the law is such that you can only expense running and maintence costs. No modification or upgrades.
So if your planning upgrades/extras/modifications get them done as part of the original package. It hurts a lot less then having to fork out post-tax dollars later on. The one watchout for this this is that once you exceed the luxury car tax threshold all the extras you add will be subject to luxury car tax so the savings are erroded. (This was why I went for the GX rather than GXL).
But as others have said a fully serviced lease is great. I just love being able to stick $200+ worth of fuel in the Prado then pay for it with the Fleet Card. Having never seen the money it like not paying at all, and it makes bugeting a whole lot easier.

Yep defintiely shop around for the deals as I had a quote difference of $3.5K between dealers for the same spec car and both dealerships are in the Adelaide not that far from each other.

                Cheers

I found that for an optioned up GXL under lease was about the same price as a cash up front GX. No comparison really is it.
