  • vent direction control knob replacement

Has anyone hear had to replace the direction control knob on the cabin vents ( as in the ones either side of the stereo)
the actual knob that is in the centre of the vent that allows side to side / up down control
i have 2 broken ones and tried to get just the knob but was told by toyota i had to buy the complete vent assembly for over $200 each.
i am chasing some from a wreckers but want to know if other alternatives are available which might save me some dollars
    thanks

I have the same issue with the passenger side vent in my 120. Would be interested to know what you do in the end to fix it. Please post any progress.
    Cheers!

Hi Fella's , I went for a walk through the wreckers when it happened to me and found an old ford which had a slide which was similar . It is not perfect but doesn't look too out of place .
      Hope this helps .

I am in the same situation too! Bought the Prado, vent control broken - not a deal breaker but annoying to get fixed!

Same here. 2 gone, wife broke 1, then daughter the other couple of days later! Might try the superglue.
