Ipod AUX Input 2006 Prado Grande 4 Stacker - Can it be done?

Hey Guys,

Just want to know if there is anyway to modify the existing 4 stacker so that I can play my Ipod in the Prado?

My previous vehicle was easy, there is a simple plug you can buy on ebay like this

Surely something exists??

I have one of those on my 2006 VX with 6 stacker- works fine.There is a thread on here somewhere about it. Neil

As stated on the page you also need the Y connector ($15) to work on the Satnav system.

hmm interesting. has anyone used the y connector with the sat nav, would be interested to see if and how it works particularly with the 2003 model. was planning on upgrading the whole system to allow for ipod connectivity but this is a much cheaper option.

I bought another Toyota factory stereo off a recent Corolla/Hilux which has a small screen in the middle to replace the satnav off my 2003 Grande. It is an in-dash 6CD with a USB port, 3.5mm aux in, bluetooth with audio streaming and input for reverse camera. I'll do a quick write-up of this soon as I've just put this in less than a week ago. I haven't tried it with my iPod yet but it is doing really well playing 6GB worth of songs from a USB MosKeyTo drive and bluetooth streaming off my Android phone. The USB port charges as well. Costs about $300 from ebay.

Hi there,

I used a Dension Gateway 100 (www.dension.com) mostly because it was sold to me cheap by a buddy. there are better versions available now, make sure you get the 'Y' connector, and you'll find it works a charm. Charges your iPod / iPhone, and allows you to listen to your music using either the car radio controls or the iPhone. Dension also do an app for you iPhone that lets you control it all - very slick. Easy install, piece of cake really.

Thinking about swapping to a Dension Gateway 5 to get Bluetooth integration as well.

G'day,
I have an '07 Grande and the gps/CD player has a mini-jack plug, as standard, located inside the glovebox on the side of the gps/cd unit - works a treat with the Ipod.

you guys obviously have not searched this website for info , there is a stack of info in the electrical section on exactly this subject . go to the bottom of the page in the elec section , and search back to not the last 100 days but the beginning . or google VAIS technology it plugs straight into the back , deletes the stacker , operates from the touch screen , charges and sounds awsome .can also delete the annoying start up message on the touch screen .
