  • New air filter box needed

    G'day,

After doing some work on the Prado on the weekend I noticed one of the clips on the airbox is not there. I should have noticed this before as the only time I can think that this might have happened was when my snorkel was fitted (Jan last year) or the last service with Toyota (a few thousand km ago).

I called up parts at Penrith Toyota and of course the clips can not be bought separately. Which makes sense when looking at the airbox and how the clips are held on. I am now in the market for a new air filter box. But i am hoping not to have to pay full price from Toyota as it is $500.

Does anyone know of a wrecker that might be of use?

    cheers

On my firstr Prado I had one of the air box clips break off, it was relativly simple to drill a couple of new holes in the webbing and attach it with a split pin. Of course you need the clip to be able to repair it this way, maybe take your bash plates off and check in there, you never know your luck. Otherwise if you can find a damaged airbox at a wreckers you could get the clip fo next to nothing I reckon.

        Cheers Andrew
