  • Bonnet catch?

    Hi everyone,

Does anybody know if you can adjust the bonnet catch, as whilst the bonnet is down there is a small amount of play which causes the bonnet to vibrate slightly when driving. I have had a look at the catch but can not see any points of adjustment.

    Any ideas

    Cheers

Don't adjust the catch.. Simply wind the rubber stoppers each side of the open bonnet out a bit.

Hi Paul, on my 120 series there's a screw-down rubber bump stop on each side of the bonnet - just screw these out a little bit and it will take up the play. It just looks like a round bump stop but it has a thread.

I had the same issue with mine, but I had to adjust the pump stops that far to stop the vibration the bonnet ended up way above the side panels.

I ended up winding them back down again and removing the latch near the radiator, drilled out the holes a little and put the catch back on. Played with the height of the catch until i got it where I wanted and it is much better now.

Once again thanks for the tips. bonnet no longer vibrates, found the little rubber stops on the underside of the bonnet and all is good.
