Mine turned out to be something which had dried on the fascia.

Originally thought the fascia had pitted as could not clean it of with any of the normal cleaners, tried metho today and with a bit of elbow grease it has cleaned it all off.

I think it may have been a residue from amoral but it was not greasy or smudged.

Was not on the Prado as I am still waiting but on the other car.

well, tried the metho first to no effect. then tried the brasso which unfortunately didn't work. any other ideas out there? i might outlay and get a replacement as the scrathes are really noticeable.

              Gilbo,
This works for me.....test spot first and always with caution!!
Blow compressed air if possible to remove dust , as gently as possible. Use a lint free cloth lightly,to remove what is left, don' t rub surface. the trick is remove as much of the abrasive dust as possible with out rubbing. Try a product , New Finish Car polish. Apply on a small rubber of cloth- a ball of clean cloth, avoid contact on any other surfaces apart from where it is needed....polish gently That spray polish looks like it will also be worth a try.
              cheers!

Yep the Scratch X has worked well for me. I had a deep scratch that went from bonet to tailgate after an unused track got very narrow. Anyway a bit of elbow grease & several sessions the scratch is now gone. Smaller & shallower scratchs probably could be removed in one go.

I thought about getting a buffer at one stage but I was concerned about over doing it & perhaps heating the paint surface up to much & doing more harm than good.

Anyone have experience of treating a larger area?

                    Cheers

spent all of Sunday cleaning/polishing the Prado.

found a fair bit of mud in the doors in the small drain holes.

used Scratch X for some scratches down each side and initially I didn't think it did that great of a job, but then I polished the whole car with Meguiar's Wet Look and it came up a treat! Easy to put on and easy to take off. Took me all of maybe an hour to polish.

My fascia quite scratched up too just by dusting it off after Simpson trip.
So where does one get this Plexus :?:
 did a google - looks like I can get it from the local Autobarn.

                              hey Lippa
Got to Autopro today - and no Plexus.
But they did have Vuplex - for all intents and purposes, looks like same stuff.

I'll have a go at applying it tomorrow.
