  • High frequency vibration through steering wheel

I have a 2008 120 diesel GX manual. Under hard acceleration the steering wheel starts to buzz, i.e. it has a high frequency vibration coming up the steering column.

I have rebalanced the wheels, the wheel bearings are good as are all the bearings on the diff etc etc.

I have had a look at the "backlash" on the front diff. The bolts on the input flange rotate approx 11mm, the rear diff rotates approx. 4mm. I have asked Toyota if the backlash on the front diff is a) normal and b) if not, would cause the vibration. No answer so far! Any thoughts?

I have checked all the undertrays and they are secure.

I have recently changed the front diff oil.

I would appreciate any thoughts / similar experiences.
