Bit surprised I couldn't find a general servicing thread in a search so if it exists mods please move this...
Booked the Prado in for its 120,000km service next week. Sticking with a dealer because of extended warranty and I am still nervous about injectors. Anyway we changed locations a few services ago and usually drop the 120 off about 4:00 on a Friday afternoon and pick it up the next morning, the evening/night service being the most convenient. When I booked the service I was asked to bring the Prado in at least 5 hours before the normal time. I thought this was because there was some issue with the nightshift but it was to let the engine get stone cold for the valve clearance check. Now the valve clearance check occurs every 40,000km and this is the first time I have been asked to bring the car in early. Never left the car long enough for a cool down and service. Previous services were done by a different dealer as part of the lease. Hmmm wonder if they were cutting corners....
