Mod Plate to Remove Rear Seats??

I was told the other day that you need a mod plate if you have the rear 'removable' seats taken out of the car. Has anyone else got a mod plate done for removing their seats? Has anyone had it done who has installed rear drawers or fridge slides??

For mine the fact they ARE removable via special mounts means no mod plate is needed, never tested by anyone in authority admittedly. I imagine removing the second row seats would be another story.

Their is some weird rules around this but I would think you would be hard pushed to find someone that would enforce it, in saying that if u were selling your car without the seats I am sure it would be not road worthy but for general use day to day I can't see any police pulling u over to question where your rear seats r.

There was some discussion on this a few years ago, bottom line is the 3rd row seats are designed to be removed so they can be without a mod plate.

As long as you don't carry any passengers that are not occupying a seat then you can't commit any offence.
