  • Differential drop necessary?

    Hello folks
    I have a 2005 LC prado with 50mm OME lift (the front is closer to 60mm because I recently adjusted the coilover for leveling reasons)
    I need to know if a differential drop kit will be necessary
    If yes which one to get?

    Thanks so much in advance

    Hi;
    I have the same lift but no diff drop kit...and I don't have any problem.

      Hi guys (first post),

      Can I ask how high your lift is overall? I've just had a lift and am sitting 810/815mm on the front (measured from bottom of rim) and am worried about stress on the CVs.

        I have OME 884 with no dif drop, have had it in for 18 months. I regularly go off road and treat it badly and have had no dramas yet. You will find your 810-815 will settle a bit as well.
        Cheers

          As fourbyphil states, your new suspension setup will settle in, hence why most warrenty cards are completed after a 500km final measurement. I have had a look around at these kits and the suppliers on this forum state that their kits are aimed at lifts that maintain a lift of over 50mm. If your around the 50mm mark I think you are fine, there are plenty of similar rigs like ours that have a 'mild' ride height. Those that venture into the 60mm+ areas are who the kits will benifit the most. I did notice amts has put in a half sized diff drop kit as his lift was not as extreme as others.

          Cheers,

            I've got the 'full' height spacer. I think AJ120 has the half height.
