Got my Prado a week ago , second hand 20000km , i noticed the lcd screen on the radio was a bit clouded. At the time i thought it was moisture built up in there from the rain at the time, after being parked in the sun with windows down its still there . Leading me to believe that it is dust not moisture . Witch would explain alot because the previous owners had been to Birdsville and back , we are still finding dirt & dust in some unusual places . Just wondering if anyone else had come across this , and any suggestions on cleaning it? As it is a little hard to see the display. Thanks Russ. :?: :?

Alot of outback 4WDs get dust behind the screen on the radio. They are not sealed units generally and as you are aware, dust enters every nook and cranny.
If you are technically minded, or know someone who is, then the LCD screen cover can be removed fairly easily to clean away the dust. To do all this would take quite some hours of disassembling your dash, remove the radio, remove dust, check radio, reinstall. A full days work to remove a little dust.
I wouldnt worry too much about it unless its playing on your mind and you have plenty of time and technical know-how up your sleeve.Expected Mid March 2008 - Prado GXL 3.0L D4D 5 Speed Auto, Powder White, Opt Pack 1, ARB Colour-coded Steel Bullbar, Bonnet Protector, Headlight Protectors, Weathershields, roofrack, Colour-coded Spare Wheel Cover, Reverse Park Assist, Roof Rails, 2500kg Tow Bar.
