Hi all, my first thread so here goes. Can any one help me with what does the kerb weight (2180kgs)of my 06 prado incurr? does it include fuel/oils and coolant or not? I have a 2.5 ton van (fully loaded,I hope) and am worried about the total gross mass. I have been reading lots of your threads/ posts over the last few days and found it all facinating reading, and yes I am also victim of the dreaded injector seal problems but will post on that later.I hope i can add some usefull input into this forum at some stage. Cheers Dave

Not sure if you read this link below?
http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post357275
The reasoning behind the Min/Max of a curb weight is because the Grande has more extras than the GX (GX = Poverty pack! Lol) + Auto or Manual gearbox, and yes the kerb weight is fully fueled/coolant and oils! The purpose of kerb weight is also for freight carriers but ultimately you need a weight bridge and must account for Passengers/Cargo when including full load!

Thanks a lot for that info Skywalkerrun. No i hadnt read your thread, very informative. After doing my math i have worked out the loading with myself and my lovely wife, bull bars 2nd battery, tools, waeco(full of beer and maybe 1 bottle of wine for the lovely) tow bars etc, etc, and allowing max ball weight of 250kgs for the van, Im approx 35kg over my max of 2900 gross vehicle mass. (gxl auto) No room for a roof rack and tinny boat/motor. How can i work out how much loading i have on my rear axle ,seeing by your thread that its max is 1800kgs? I do use level riders. Cheers Dave

You need to look at your Gross combination mass and see what you can throw in the trailer.
http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post359454
If followed all above you then need to get friendly with a weight bridge to find out where all the weight is sitting!
EG: Front axel/ Rear axel and/or trailer with total combination weight!
Try not to get too confused with the trailer 2500 Kg because even though the trailer cannot exceed 2500 Kg if the trailer has all the weight packed towards the the front (Toe-ball) then it will push more weight onto the rig and reduce the rigs capacity to carry more weight based on rear axel load
(Try to put all weight on trailer axle away from toe-ball).... You can measure toe-ball weight with a pair of good scales but i beleave there is quite a few guys on hear who know exactly how to measure toe-ball weight
A link on weight distribution also in this thread below!
