Had problem with new car previously (not the Prado) where the air conditioning did not work on delivery and a o-ring in the system was not sealing properly and letting the gas out. Took a few visits to fix the problem.

Wow, thats stuns me even more than up the creeks problem...

Anyone who is worth their salt that has anything to do with A/C stuff that if you have a leak you find the leak. Pressure test. Its actually in the trades best practice regulations.

I used to come across this situation working on industrial equipment all the time because of the harsh environment and higher than normal stresses on components. First thing we always did was to pressure test and fine the leak.
