I do believe the genuine air filter is the only way to go. They are purpose built for your vehicle and do the best job. Clean air is paramount for any engine.

If you find they are too expensive a lot of people on PP shop here www.amayama.com where you can purchase genuine parts for a faction of the price apparently. I have yet to do so but certainly will give it a try next service.

    Hope this helps

Donaldson has long been used as original equipment in for trucks and earthmoving equipment filters. Simply the best quality available. They now manufacture fuel oil and air filters for 4x4s including Prados. They also supply these three filters as a kit. I just purchased the kit for my 120 D4D diesel for $50.00. The best at the best price. Suggest you visit their website. While there read the article on beta standards for micron ratings for filters.
Also Donaldson air filters can be sonic cleaned and tested then are good to be used again.I have used it for 100,000km and it is still good. Costs me $10.00.This is common practice in trucks and earthmoving filters.
PS The Prado air conditioning cabin filter can also be sonic cleaned and reused.

No I have absolutely no relationship/interest with any filter company or filter cleaner inc Donandson.

Unifilter make excellent foam filters which are servicable, also they have a great pre-filter to install on or into your snorkel.
