  • Drivers roof grab handle

Not sure who else has this problem but as I am well over six foot this use to drive me nuts.

Who else bashes the side of their head on the drivers roof grab handle while wandering down a track.

Simple solution, the base Prado doesn't have the third row of seats and no third row roof grab handles, instead there are two small caps that bolt into the body and help secure the roof lining.

Part Number 74618-35010-B0 is for a stone colored trim, 74618-35010-A0 for a ivory colored trim.

I removed the drivers roof grab handle and used two of the stone colored trim pieces to secure the hood lining. There are two tags on the rear of the covers that have to be carefully ground off, you can see it in one of the pictures.

If I forget to push the seat back after the Financial Controller has been driving I bump into all sorts of bits. Ouch. But seat back I don't get anywhere near the handle but I suspect compared to you I'm a short arse.

Im not that tall but have smashed my noggin on the grab handle more than once. Something to do with the lack of hair protecting my melon.

My fix (in a fit of rage one day) was to whip them off and place them (at high speed) into the shed for later.
I then grabbed a couple of those generic trim plugs from supercrap and plug the holes...
        Cheers
        Micheal.

Hahaha, I'm hearing ya. Happens to me every trip. I wack my head on it once or twice and think "man I gotta pull that thing out" and it is always right next to my temple, so I should remove it before it knocks me out one day. But by the end of the day or long trip I forget about it, until the next time I am on a track and the same scenaro happens again. About to go camping for 3 weeks, so thanks for this thread, it might kick me into gear to pull the thing off before I go. This is the only 4wd I have been in that has that grab handle on the drivers side.
          Cheers,
          Stuey
