  • Clicking sound from front of Prado need some help

    Hi all

I have a 120 series Prado it's the 4litre v6 model auto, so every time I go from drive to reverse and start to move its ok but as soon as i put my foot on the brake there is a steel on steel clicking sound if then i go forward again and put my foot on the brake i hear the clicking sound again, at first I thought is was the brake pads moving in the caliper from the front to the back but I have checked them and they look fine, so I am now thinking it might be something in the front diff but I'm not sure. I think it must be common enough as a few days ago I was getting fuel when another Prado pulled up and stopped and then reversed and as soon as I saw the brake light I heard the same clicking sound!!!

Has anyone come across this before?.

    Thanks

    Chris

Our Rav does the same thing, I have given up trying to work it out so will be interested to see if you get an answer!

Wifes yaris sedan does it to. I was told its the pads moving in the calliper ?? Been like it for nearly 7 years now since we bought it new, probably got a bit noisier now but I just ignore it. The seat clicking in the yaris every time you brake or accelerate pisses me off more then any thing. Time to update it anyway now....other then those 2 things has been an absolute ripper of a second car, even driven it to QLD and got 6.1L per 100 1.5L auto lol wish the prado did that....only got 70k on it now....Cheers Steve

They all do it, i wouldn't worry. It's a feature and not a problem
