  • Looking at a few upgrades

So, after getting our prado diff deep in sand today and getting pulled out by a hilux, im considering a few upgrades.
Its a 2003 Turbo Diesel Auto with the KZ motor.

its mainly an around town car, occasional highway use, but we also like to take it off road every now and then, nothing extreme.

I'm looking at a suspension upgrade, nudge bar with some spotties & a uhf.

Never done anything with suspension on a 4wd drive before.
What are peoples recommendations on brands etc?
Maybe a lift kit as well?

Got Toyo all terrains tyres at moment, near new so wont be changing them anytime soon.

    Cheers
    Chilli.

G'day ChilliPlenty of good information in the 120 Suspension section with plenty to mull over. A number of good options to improve the clearance of your Prado as well improve the handling. From Old Man Emu suspension (OME), to Bilstein Kings combo's to Dobinson springs with various shock setups also.Enjoy your read.

""Sure, just a few upgrades. That's what we all said. "" so true, so true, Dave..... chilli86 its like those pringle's, once you start you cant stop lol....Enjoy...I have TJM gold but if I had a choice again Id go the OME (ARB) like I've had in last two prado's. I'm finding the TJM to soft and doesn't hold as well with a load like the OME use to......Cheers Steve

A few upgrades? Ha ha ha. I knew I wanted a Prado with a bullbar and dual batteries. Then I discovered this site.

Don't forget a decent tyre deflator and compressor if you are going to be playing on the sand
