Button on top of dash?

Just sold my trusty old 80 series Cruiser and bought a 2008 petrol GXL in great condition. Great drive and can't wait to try it out properly.
My questions are - 1. What is the button like a pregnant 5 cent piece in a recess on the top of the dashboard in front of the steering wheel?
And - 2. Why do I suspect that I'm going to feel pretty stupid when I get the answer?

By the way, this is a top forum. Comprehensive, helpful and kind to newbies, (hope this continues).

It is a sensor to regulate the air con temperature with the climate control.

I'm very relieved. Wasn't game to touch it in case the 120 flew around the back yard like a balloon when you blow it up then let the neck go.
Or its bum may have fallen off like when you unscrew your navel.

Welcome Outbacker. You now have 2 posts so please feel free to ask about tyre sizes. (PS DO NOT ASK ABOUT TYRE SIZES)

And that button is:
1. The tracking transmitter on button that gets activated when you subscribe to "Help me Toyota, I'm lost again"
2. EPIRB activation button.
3. Passenger eject (I know because I've worn my button out.....)
4. STA (surface to air) missile launch button, its ok, it wont be operational until you key in the activation code via the radio unit.
5. The "go on, press me and see what happens button"
6. Instant windscreen cleaner activation button
7 The last resort, "shut that whining noise up" button. (Its an optional extra they only try to sell to middle aged men that did not chose the marital partner carefully)

I'm sure there are many more yet to be documented functions.

My understanding is whilst ive read it may be connected to the air con, it is actually the daylight sensor for the auto headlights. ( that your model may or may not have)
