I installed one of these in my hilux and one in my uncles 100 series and mine worked fine apart from the slow startup. My uncles on the other hand the screen failed to be a touch screen after 3 months. They replaced the screen but never really worked properly so he bailed and got a low end store bought model instead.

Time errors on Elinz supplied in dash units
I had the same problem and Elinz accepted that there was. Fault with the unit (mother board fault) and replaced the unitOriginally posted by Jus10 View PostI took the plunge and dropped $500 on a replacement Elinz head unit for the Prado. The unit sounded great with a 7" touch screen that has reverse camera input, bluetooth hands free and so on.
So disappointed - wish I'd spent my money on a known brand. This is the one I bought: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/250752510...84.m1497.l2649
Have had it fitted for 5 days now and so far most of its features have problems. From the clock losing 2 hrs the day after you set the time to the unit not fitting a 120 series (even though they insist it does. Also lots of other smaller problems - like having to wait around 32 seconds from when the unit is switched on to when it finishes its start-up procedure and starts playing the radio/CD.
If anyone is thinking of buying one you are more than welcome to ask me about it. I'm still emailing back and forth from Elinz trying to solve it but it doesn't look hopeful.
Cheers,
J.
It now doesn't reset to 1.5 hours behind the Darwin time every time I switched on

So now the latest model unit is on it's way to me as I type. It is supposed to be the 'u beaut' model that fixes all the problems. They upgraded me for no extra $$. We'll see what we get soon I guess...
This is the new unit: http://www.elinz.com.au/http-/www.el...rado/toyotadvb2005 VX V6

Sounds like they are doing the right thing. I just installed an EONON unit to the Mrs' BMW E90. Came with full facia etc and looks neat as. Also ordered the TPMS which interfaces with it. It is a BMW specific unit and displays the fuel consumption and trip meter stuff as well as when the doors open, heated seats etc... For just over $400 it's pretty good and the mapping seems ok albeit our street isn't on there but it is only new...
Fingers crossed it all works out for you

Wow, I gotta say that those people at Elinz sure do know about customer service and support! Even though the first unit I bought from them was cr*p, they upgraded me to the next unit (top of the range) at no extra cost and it is awesome! Everything works exceptionally well and it has a compass too. Will post a pic soon.
Another plus is being able to add my own start-up logo (any .bmp file) or wallpaper.
