Drive Line Issue

Hi Guys
I've got a bit of a problem that I need some advise with, I've got a 09 120 series, and its only happen twice, its was today and about 6 months ago, and its only happen when the miss's has been driving it, maybe something in that . while driving the front start to bang and a big jolt goes through the car, and the car starts to shake from side to side. The sound seems to be with the speed of the car so it seems to be something with the drive line. so once the car stops and takes off again it seems to be ok. I jumped into it today and see if it would happen again, but all good, I even put it into 4x4 low and it was all good which I'm happy about, but I'm going away at Xmas so I want to get sorted. The cars done 140 km, but nothing hard and only a small amount of 4x4ing so I'm a bit lost on what it could be...

Does she hang things on the short stick and lock the centre diff by accident?

Also check the front diff mounts and bushes but I think that would show up more often.

Yeah, sounds like the center diff lock being engaged. Is yours engaged via a button?

Thanks for the reply guys, it hasn't done it again, I got under it again and check it all out again and it seems ok, so will just have to wait and see I suppose.
Amts mines still the shifter for locking it in. And as for the hand bag mickl, that was actually my first question to her.

I've got what sounds like the same problem, 05 grande, auto, petrol. It's done it twice now in two months, only had it that long. It was back at the dealer last week, thankfully i took the dealer12 month warranty. They had it for two days and found nothing.

The funny thing is, it did it on the same bit of road each time, 2nd time it sounded like something was going to go bang big time unless i stopped. Left home, two right hand corners, 1km up the rd, left to a 70km area and it starts making the noise. Got out, gave it the once over, got back in and away we go with no noise.

Reakon i will keep driving it next time till it goes bang, it's under warranty, hopefully the bit that breaks is covered.

If u find out what it is, let me know.

This sounds similar to a problem the Rodeo's and Bravo's had years ago with the slippery diffs, the clutch packs wouldn't slip and the driveline would wind up , you would be driving along nicely then get this huge bang through the drive-line , like a wind up noise - traced it back to poor quality LSD oils here in Aus
