Not being mechanically minded, looking for some advice on 06 120 Prado GXL, V6 Petrol 6sp Man 160,000k....an oil leak that has started appearing on the underside of the engine. (See Pics) Owned from new not had any issues before, oil changes every 5k & serviced by Toyota.
The leak appears it is coming from above, although from what I can see and feel it appears to be joined above. (no hoist, had to take pics from underneath the girl whilst lying on the driveway :z)
I thought the leak may have been from when changing the oil/ filter and made a mess of it. I did wash the engine bay down afterwards and not notice any oil for about 4 weeks. No large oil drops on the driveway, seems small film tracking the underside of the engine - drive is on a slight slope.
Then was serviced by Toyota in the lead up to Christmas for the 160,000k service - although they did not mention anything, even when it was raised with them, they thought it may have been from when the did the service and spilt oil.
I washed the engine bay again thoroughly and monitored, nothing noticed for 2 weeks after the Toyota service, then on Sunday I noticed the oil and gave it a wipe underneath - didn't notice anything on Mon or Tues but did on Wed afternoon, gave it another good clean, and it was spotless and these pics are from today - Friday afternoon.
Thoughts? Suggestions? I will be taking it to be looked at although would like to get some sort idea beforehand,
